For more than three decades, Martha's Vineyard has been both Sharon Strimling's home and her sanctuary. Long before she lived here full-time, she first stepped off the ferry as an eight-year-old child and felt something she has never forgotten—a sense of coming home.
Over the years, Sharon has come to believe that places matter. Certain places invite us to slow down, breathe more deeply, reconnect with the people we love, and remember parts of ourselves that can get lost in the rush of everyday life. Her homes were created with that spirit in mind.
By profession, Sharon is a transformational coach, speaker, and facilitator who has spent nearly thirty years helping people discover greater resilience, clarity, peace of mind, and connection. The same care she brings to her professional work is woven into these homes. Every detail—from the cozy reading nooks and sunny gathering spaces to the outdoor fire pits, gardens, decks, and hot tubs—has been chosen to create an environment where people can truly exhale.
Over the years, Sharon has hosted families reuniting across generations, couples celebrating milestones, friends creating lifelong memories, writers seeking inspiration, professionals escaping busy lives, and guests simply needing a place to rest and reset. Again and again, she hears the same thing: "There is something special about this place."
Perhaps it is the island itself. Perhaps it is the beauty of gathering around a fire under the stars, sharing a meal on the deck, taking an early morning walk to the beach, or reading in a sunny window seat with nowhere else to be. More likely, it is a combination of all of these things.
Sharon's hope is simple: that during your stay, you experience not only the beauty of Martha's Vineyard, but also the rare gift of feeling fully at home.
When she's not welcoming guests, you'll likely find her paddling across the Lagoon at sunrise, walking the beaches, dancing salsa with friends, exploring nature trails, sipping tea on a sunny porch, or dreaming up new ways to create spaces where people can reconnect—with themselves, with one another, and with the magic of being alive.

She is a photographer who also loves sailing and chilling on the beach reading books. She and Sharon - a friend of 30 years and counting - have a blast working together to make sure VVH guests have the best and warmest experience possible.
